55+ Culture and Community: Practice English while learning about community resources. Participate in leisure activities such as nature walks, health and wellness programs or even cooking or nutrition classes.

55+ ESL Tutorials: Learn English in a fun filled environment, with classes from beginner to advanced. Pronunciation and vocabulary classes are also available.

There is a fee for these classes.

Programs for older people to learn English. Call to see which program will work for you.

Senior LINC: An English program for people who have been in Canada less than 3 years. No fees. Must meet entrance requirements.

Seniors ESL Classes: A fee is charged. Subsidy may be available.

Seniors Learning Circles: Practice English with a group. No fee.

Senior Host Program: Learn about Calgary and practice English. Work one-on-one with a volunteer.

Elementary English Class: Learn practical English with other seniors. This includes speaking, reading and writing at a basic level. The teacher will utilize some Chinese to help students learn.

English Talking Club: Practice speaking English using topics of everyday life.

Conversation Class: Students learn to speak English more fluently and understand the culture of Canada.

ILVARC is an assessment and referral centre for immigrants. It assists with linguistic, educational, vocational and career goals. Provides information on ESL classes. Counselling for career planning and job search techniques is available in first language or English. Services by appointment only.
